ISO -- PPE for firefighters — Test methods and requirements for PPE used by firefighters who are at risk of exposure to high levels of heat and/or flame while fighting fires occurring in structures,2015

iso.org

ISO 11999 specifies minimum design and performance requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) to be used by firefighters, primarily but not solely to protect against exposure to flame and high thermal loads. To assist with choice based on user risk assessment, types and performance levels for different categories of protection are included. The scope of ISO 11999-1:2015 does not include PPE for use in high-risk fire exposures where, for example, protective clothing with reflective surface according to ISO 15538 might be more appropriate, or for use in long-term firefighting operations in high ambient temperature (for example, bush, wildland, or forest firefighting) where equipment according to ISO 16073 might be more appropriate. Similarly, ISO 11999 does not include PPE to protect against chemical and biological hazards, other than against short-term and accidental exposure while engaged in firefighting and associated activities when fighting fires occurring in structures. ISO 11999-1:2015 describes the general structure of this International Standard, sets design and performance requirements for PPE, and includes requirements for marking and manufacturer's instructions.

pTD (portable Toxin Detector)

bruker.com
EN

The portable Toxin Detector (pTD) allows the rapid, specific and sensitive identification of multiple toxins. Sampling The system is able to analyze liquid and solid samples. Sample preparation includes resuspension and filtration of sample matrices using pTD Sample Preparation Kit. Technology The detection principle is based on an electrochemical Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) procedure. Features Parallel analysis of five toxins in less than 25 minutes, excellent sensitivities, minimal sample preparation, automated sample and data processing, portable instrument, integrated positive and negative control, integrated decontamination procedure, extendable to new threats. Device Types and Application The system is intended for on-site analysis of toxins in mobile labs and onboard vehicles. Consumables and Maintenance Recently, there are four Kits available for the pTD. 1. Sample Preparation Kit - includes all buffers and consumables necessary for two sample preparations. 2. Toxin Test Kit BWA I - detection of BoNT/A, BoNT/B, BoNT/E (all CDC Category A), ricin and SEB (both CDC Category B) (5 measurements). 3. Toxin Test Kit BWA II - detection of BoNT/A, BoNT/B, BoNT/F (all CDC Category A), ricin and SEB (both CDC Category B) (5 measurements). 4. Training Kit - detection of goat immunoglobulin G (IgG) as an analog for a proteinaceous toxin (2 measurements). 5. Washing Kit - before storage the system fluidics have to be cleaned by using this kit. All kits have to be stored at +4 to +8°C. The shelf lifetime is 6 months. No preventive maintenance is required.

BNS-98L REMOTE DOSE-RATE TRANSMITTER PLACES OF APPLICATION Field survey Environment monitoring Vehicles UAVs FEATURES Measuring gamma radiation from natural background to catastrophe level Two fixed, one dynamic alarm thresholds Automatic data collection Easily replaceable data memory Data reader with USB port Location by GPS, continuous connection to PC Optional meteo sensors High reliability Military construction The BNS-98L is a highly sensitive gamma radiation meter coupled with an extensively usable data logger. Measuring range of gamma radiation is seven orders from natural background. The applied special algorithm generates alarm in case of quick or slow significant increase of radiation level besides the two adjustable and fixed alarm thresholds. The device is designed to operate under extreme meteorological and mechanical conditions and suitable to be used for reconnaissance on vehicles and UAVs or planted for continuous automatic data collecting. Optional GPS and meteo sensors. Memory card is removeable from outside the device and can be connected to the evaluating computer by a data reader with USB port.

BETH-EL EPCS VM-3

cbrneworld.com
ENHE

The Beth-El EPCS system series (Environmental Protection and Control System) are compact and modular, hybrid ventilation and NBC filtration systems that are combined with an air conditioning unit, designed to provide humidity and temperature controlled clean air to the vehicle crew compartment. In addition, carbon monoxide filtration is integrated with the system, which cleans the air from harmful gases, protecting the crew from toxic levels of noxious gasses that WHO (the World Health Organization) and the EU (European Union) have created new legislation against. The VM-series systems can be accommodated into any container or armored vehicle chassis and utilize a highly efficient cyclone filter for heavy duty sand and dust extraction, followed by a prefilter for any remaining fine dust. An NBC filter stage follows these dust filtration stages to remove nuclear, biological, and chemical particles from the air. The FA180 VM-7 does not have the environmental conditioning systems of the EPCS series.
