pTD (portable Toxin Detector)
PEERS
The portable Toxin Detector (pTD) allows the rapid, specific and sensitive identification of multiple toxins. Sampling The system is able to analyze liquid and solid samples. Sample preparation includes resuspension and filtration of sample matrices using pTD Sample Preparation Kit. Technology The detection principle is based on an electrochemical Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) procedure. Features Parallel analysis of five toxins in less than 25 minutes, excellent sensitivities, minimal sample preparation, automated sample and data processing, portable instrument, integrated positive and negative control, integrated decontamination procedure, extendable to new threats. Device Types and Application The system is intended for on-site analysis of toxins in mobile labs and onboard vehicles. Consumables and Maintenance Recently, there are four Kits available for the pTD. 1. Sample Preparation Kit - includes all buffers and consumables necessary for two sample preparations. 2. Toxin Test Kit BWA I - detection of BoNT/A, BoNT/B, BoNT/E (all CDC Category A), ricin and SEB (both CDC Category B) (5 measurements). 3. Toxin Test Kit BWA II - detection of BoNT/A, BoNT/B, BoNT/F (all CDC Category A), ricin and SEB (both CDC Category B) (5 measurements). 4. Training Kit - detection of goat immunoglobulin G (IgG) as an analog for a proteinaceous toxin (2 measurements). 5. Washing Kit - before storage the system fluidics have to be cleaned by using this kit. All kits have to be stored at +4 to +8°C. The shelf lifetime is 6 months. No preventive maintenance is required.
